The Minister of Public Business Sector discusses cooperation opportunities with Turkish investors in the clothing industry

The meeting discussed opportunities and prospects for joint cooperation in the ready-made clothing industry, especially in the field of denim fabrics, in light of Egypt’s integrated industrial capabilities, advanced infrastructure, and strategic geographic location, as well as its long history and accumulated experiences in the textile industry.

In this context, Engineer Muhammad Shimi stressed that the Ministry fully welcomes cooperation and partnership with the local and foreign private sector, and is working to provide various facilities and facilities necessary for investors, which contributes to attracting more investments, deepening local industrialization, and achieving real added value to the national economy.

The Minister pointed out that the Ministry’s textile sector is currently witnessing comprehensive development within the framework of the national project to develop this vital industry, explaining that the new factories are being equipped according to the latest international technologies, in a way that achieves the highest standards of quality, efficiency and productivity, and raises the competitiveness of the Egyptian product in local and global markets.

During the meeting, the features of the national project to develop the textile industry were reviewed in the Cotton, Spinning, Textile, and Clothing Holding Companies affiliated with the Ministry of Public Business Sector, as the first phase of the project was completed and operated successfully, which included a number of Misr Spinning and Weaving Company factories in Mahalla al-Kubra, with the second phase nearing completion, which includes the rest of Mahalla’s spinning factories, in addition to a new factory belonging to the Misr Shebin al-Kom Spinning and Weaving Company, which recently entered the operating phase. Work is also underway in parallel to implement the third phase of the project, which includes the Damietta, Dakahlia, Bayda Dyers, Helwan, and Upper Egypt spinning and weaving companies.

For their part, the members of the delegation reviewed the activity of the Turkish Eroglu Group and its more than forty years of experience in the ready-to-wear garment industry, especially jeans products. They also gave a presentation about the company’s new factory in Qantara West, stressing their confidence in the Egyptian investment climate and the promising opportunities it provides for growth and expansion, and the establishment of successful and sustainable industrial partnerships.
