Bakr added, during a video for the Cabinet Information Center, that the Israeli side is practicing a degree of media blackout with the aim of showing that it has the stronger hand and maintaining morale inside Israel, in light of the rapid developments in the conflict.
Bakr explained that Egypt has always remained the “voice of reason” in the region, as since the beginning of the crisis it has adopted a position calling for diplomatic solutions and containing escalation, stressing that Cairo plays an important role in pushing for calm.
She pointed out that what is happening currently represents a blow to the international system that was established after the Peace of Westphalia, which is based on respect for the sovereignty of states, considering that the escalation between the United States and Iran reflects profound changes in the nature of the global system.
She stressed that Egypt will continue to play a pivotal role in regional and international coordination in order to reach political solutions to end the war, whose effects are no longer limited to the region only, but extend to affect the entire world.
