A statement issued by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry stated that the Foreign Ministers of the Arab Republic of Egypt, the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, the Union of the Comoros, the Republic of Djibouti, the Republic of Gambia, the Republic of Indonesia, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the State of Kuwait, the State of Libya, the Republic of Maldives, the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Sultanate of Oman, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the State of Palestine, The State of Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Federal Republic of Somalia, the Republic of Sudan, the Republic of Türkiye, the Republic of Yemen, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation; Recalling the previous statement issued on December 27, 2025 by the Foreign Ministers, which rejected Israeli recognition of the Somaliland region of the Federal Republic of Somalia; Express their strong condemnation of the recent illegal visit by an Israeli official to the Somaliland region of the Federal Republic of Somalia on 6 January 2026.
The statement explained that the ministers affirm that this visit is a clear violation of the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia, and an undermining of stable international rules and the United Nations Charter. They also renew their firm support for the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia. They stress that encouraging separatist agendas is unacceptable and risks exacerbating tensions in a fragile region.

They also affirm that respect for international law, non-interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states, and adherence to diplomatic norms are essential elements for achieving regional and international stability, and they value the commitment of the Federal Republic of Somalia to peaceful international interaction, constructive diplomacy, and compliance with the provisions of international law;
They express their commitment to continue supporting the diplomatic and legal measures taken by the Federal Republic of Somalia to safeguard its sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity and stability, consistent with the provisions of international law.
The statement concluded that these countries stress the need for Israel to fully respect the sovereignty, national unity and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia, and to fulfill its obligations in accordance with international law, and they demand the immediate withdrawal of the recognition issued by Israel.
