Details of citizens’ distress from drivers’ intransigence in Alexandria

One of the citizens documented a video clip that was circulated on the social networking site, during which he explained that the drivers insulted him because he refused to double the fare amid a large crowd of passengers and their inability to ride.

The video publisher indicated that those responsible for the Misr Station point responsible for Agami microbuses confirmed that drivers report directly to the governorate and do not follow the stops at the station.

The publisher added that the matter was not resolved until there was a police officer who forced the drivers to take the prescribed fare.

Citizens demanded the imposition of more control, especially with the approaching month of Ramadan and their inability to move easily in light of the drivers’ intransigence and the doubling of fares, in addition to cutting lines to increase their profits.

Earlier, Engineer Ayman Attia, Governor of Alexandria, Head of the Sharq District and Director of the Utilities Police, directed the removal of occupied shops on Al-Tayyar Ahmed Abu Al-Saud Street and the paving of the occasional streets branching from it to increase traffic flow in the area, pointing out the importance of allocating a bus stop on Mustafa Kamel Street in the Fleming area to reduce traffic congestion on Abu Qir Street.
