Matrouh Governorate is preparing to receive the Salloum Storm, which usually strikes the city in the first week of March, according to the governorate’s forecast table, as it is accompanied by southwesterly winds and rain of varying intensity. This storm was given this name due to the western winds blowing from the direction of the city of Salloum.

As part of advance preparations to confront weather fluctuations, the Matrouh Sanitation Company announced raising the maximum degree of readiness in all sectors, with the deployment of water suction vehicles and heavy equipment, in addition to carrying out the work of disinfecting drains and drains and the spread of emergency teams in various neighborhoods, to immediately deal with any accumulations of rainwater.

Matrouh Governorate confirmed in an official statement that the operating rooms are working around the clock to follow developments in the weather condition, with continued coordination between the governorate’s executive agencies, to ensure rapid response to any emergency, maintain the safety of citizens, and continue traffic movement and vital services during the critical period.

The Governor of Matrouh also announced that the maximum level of preparedness and emergency was raised in all executive agencies and concerned authorities, to confront instability in weather conditions, in light of the Meteorological Authority’s expectations that the governorate will be exposed to rain ranging in intensity from light to heavy during the coming days.
