Dr. Gamal Sayed Ahmed, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Veterinary Medicine in Assiut, said that veterinary convoys in… Assiut It provides people with direct support in treating and caring for their livestock and poultry, and opens doors for education and training, in a scene that reflects that true development begins with caring for animals, which represent the basic pillar of rural family food security.

He added that a convoy was held in the village of Al-Aounah in Sahel Selim Center, under the supervision of Dr. Muhammad Ahmed Ali Adawi, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and in the presence of Dr. Enas Ahmed Abdel Hafez, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, with the participation of an elite group of faculty members and college students, in cooperation with the Directorate of Veterinary Medicine in Assiut led by Dr. Gamal Sayed Ahmed, and with the participation of specialized teams of the Directorate’s doctors in the fields of veterinary care, treatment, reproductive care and guidance, in addition to the doctors of the veterinary unit in the village.
The convoy was able to provide integrated veterinary services for 647 cases of livestock and animals, in addition to treating 1,278 poultry, in a wide scope that reflects breeders’ confidence in this initiative and their growing awareness of the importance of preventive veterinary care.
Dr. Jamal Sayed Ahmed Ali stressed that these convoys are no longer just a therapeutic intervention, but have become a tool for comprehensive rural development, as knowledge is built among educators, the participation of rural women is enhanced, and preventive methods are established that reduce the spread of diseases and limit economic losses. Villages are also transformed into arenas for training and education, so that science and service become accessible to citizens in their place, and the countryside becomes more capable of facing challenges and achieving food security.
