The Rapid Intervention Team of the Social Solidarity Directorate in Giza Governorate revealed details of the health condition of the elderly person, known in the media as the Fayoum elderly person, as it was found that he is suffering from a severe deterioration in his health condition, and needs intensive medical care around the clock.
The Giza Rapid Intervention Team is following up on the condition of an elderly person in Fayoum
Mohamed Hussein Abdel-Al, a member of the rapid intervention team, said In Gizatold Cairo 24, that he visited the elderly Tariq Zidan, and it was found that he suffers from complications of diabetic foot, in addition to being infected with Hepatitis C, in addition to the presence of bed sores, which makes his health condition critical and requires careful follow-up and continuous medical care.
Hussein explained that the 6th of October Hospital prepared a comprehensive medical report on the elderly person’s condition, and it was sent to the Central Administration for Social Welfare in Giza, in preparation for taking the necessary measures to transfer him, in light of the lack of a suitable nursing home for his condition inside the hospital at the present time.
The member of the rapid intervention team added that the elderly person’s condition requires integrated and equipped health care, stressing that his health condition is not compatible with traditional nursing homes, which may not be qualified to deal with such critical cases.
He pointed out that the competent authorities are monitoring the case continuously, in order to quickly provide a suitable place that guarantees the provision of the necessary medical care, in a way that preserves the patient’s dignity and ensures that he receives treatment as quickly as possible.
He stressed that the rapid intervention team continues to follow up on the case until it stabilizes and the procedures for transferring it to an appropriate medical facility are completed.
He added that the 6th of October Hospital is still awaiting the approval of the Social Solidarity Directorate in Giza to transfer the elderly person, in order to complete the legal and medical procedures related to the case, stressing that as soon as all procedures are completed and the necessary approvals are obtained, the elderly person will be transferred to one of the Giza Governorate hospitals to receive the necessary medical care, in light of the deterioration of his health condition and his need for careful follow-up within an equipped medical facility.
