Engineer Tharwat El Gendy, President of Petro Shorouk Company, revealed during the General Assembly of Petro Shorouk Company, in the presence of Minister of Petroleum Karim Badawi, that additional investments worth $77 million will be pumped during the current fiscal year 2025/2026, within the framework of intensifying Zohr field development activities, continuing well maintenance work, and improving operating efficiency.

Allocating $77 million to maintain Zohr field wells and increase gas production this year

He added in a statement by the Ministry that the proposed budget for the fiscal year 2026/2027 amounts to $524 million, and focuses on continuing development and operation work in the field, while implementing vital projects to develop the infrastructure in the field and raise the efficiency of operating production wells.

He explained that the capacity of the Dahr Al Bareya station will be increased, and the marine processing project will be launched through the floating processing unit (FPU), to develop the produced gas processing system, support production sustainability, and raise operating efficiency.

Engineer Karim Badawy, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, stressed the strategic importance of the Zohr field as one of the main pillars of Egypt’s domestic production of natural gas.

He pointed out the importance of cooperating with partners to maximize the use of the potential of the field’s concession area, calling for work to apply modern 4D seismic surveying technologies, in a way that improves visibility into the potential in deep waters under the sea, supports access to new gas resources from the field and makes investment decisions to exploit them.
