A few days separate us from the blessed month of Ramadan for the year 1447 AH, when the Egyptian Fatwa House will survey the crescent of the blessed month of Ramadan on Tuesday the 29th of the month of Shaban 1447 (February 17, 2026).
During these days, Al-Azhar Al-Sharif Mosque is working on preparing special equipment for the holy month of Ramadan to create an atmosphere of faith and provide all means of comfort for the visitors of Al-Azhar Mosque during the holy month.
Al-Azhar Mosque is preparing to celebrate the nights of Ramadan with a comprehensive plan
Tarawih prayers are scheduled to be held every night of the blessed month of Ramadan, with 20 rak’ahs, during which a portion of the entire Holy Qur’an will be read with narrations, and a group of imams of the Qibla at Al-Azhar Mosque will lead the worshipers during it.
Al-Azhar Mosque receives worshipers in the last ten days of the blessed month of Ramadan, for Tahajjud prayer, which is organized daily from the 21st of Ramadan until the end of the holy month, with 8 rak’ahs per day, in addition to 130 reciters of the Holy Qur’an, including reciters for men, women and children at Al-Azhar Mosque throughout the month of Ramadan, as well as advocacy activities that take into account and suit all the visitors of Al-Azhar Mosque, men, women and children.
Al-Azhar Mosque allocates preaching lessons, in which members of the Council of Senior Scholars and an elite group of scholars from Al-Azhar Al-Sharif lecture, with a total of 29 lessons throughout the nights of the blessed month of Ramadan. These lessons include Tarawih prayers.
Six major celebrations are scheduled to take place at Al-Azhar Mosque during the month of Ramadan. A celebration related to Al-Azhar Mosque, and 5 celebrations related to religious and Ramadan occasions and seasons. The annual celebration of Al-Azhar Mosque will be held on the seventh of Ramadan, which will be held this year on the occasion of the 1086th anniversary of the establishment of the Al-Azhar Mosque. On the tenth of Ramadan, the anniversary of the victories of the tenth of Ramadan will be celebrated. On the seventeenth of Ramadan, the anniversary of the Battle of Badr will be celebrated. On the twentieth of Ramadan, the anniversary of the conquest of Mecca will be celebrated. On the twenty-sixth of Ramadan, Laylat Al-Qadr will be celebrated, and on the twenty-ninth of Ramadan. Ramadan celebration of Eid al-Fitr.
Al-Azhar Al-Sharif continues to provide daily breakfast, in the courtyard of Al-Azhar Mosque, to foreign students, throughout the holy month of Ramadan.
