Ain Shams University continues to implement a comprehensive development plan within Ain Shams Medical City, through the establishment of a number of new specialized hospitals, within the framework of a strategy aimed at enhancing absorptive capacity and raising the efficiency of health services provided to patients from various governorates of the Republic.

The university confirmed that work is currently underway to establish an emergency hospital and a specialized pediatric surgery hospital, as part of a huge medical project that is expected to bring about a qualitative shift in the level of health care, and to contribute to serving thousands of patients daily, by providing modern medical equipment and advanced infrastructure that supports various specialties.

The project being implemented includes the establishment of a new emergency hospital in accordance with the latest international systems for managing and receiving critical cases, in addition to a specialized pediatric surgery hospital, which contributes to reducing waiting lists and providing accurate care for children in various surgical specialties. The plan also includes developing a number of medical and service buildings, and supporting the infrastructure and modern equipment within the medical complex.

Ain Shams Medical City is one of the largest university treatment facilities in Egypt, as it includes 8 hospitals and 5 medical centers with a total of about 3,500 beds, and receives thousands of patients daily.

The new expansions aim to accommodate the steady increase in the number of visitors, and provide advanced medical services for incapable cases, thus enhancing the community, educational and research role of the university in the health sector.

The university confirmed that these projects come within a strategic vision to develop university hospitals and transform them into an integrated model for health care and medical education, keeping pace with the latest international standards and serving the health system in Egypt.
