Under the patronage of Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadiq, President of the University, Cairo University hosted the first meeting of the Supreme Council of Universities, headed by Dr. Abdel Aziz Qanswa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in the presence of Dr. Mustafa Refaat, Secretary of the Council, the trustees of the councils of private, private and technological universities, and the presidents of public universities, members of the Council, to discuss a number of important topics related to university affairs.
Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel-Sadiq expressed his pride in Cairo University hosting the first meeting of the Council headed by Dr. Abdel-Aziz Qanswa, congratulating His Excellency on the confidence of the political leadership and entrusting him with this national responsibility, and stressing the university’s keenness to support the ambitious and constructive directions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and to harness all its capabilities and expertise to support institutional development efforts and enhance integration between Egyptian universities, which contributes to achieving a qualitative shift in academic and research performance and service. Community.
The President of Cairo University stressed that the next stage requires joint work to build a more quality and competitive university model, which is a stage that holds promising opportunities for further progress and achievement, in line with the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Egypt’s Vision 2030, stressing that the development of higher education represents a fundamental pillar in building the new republic.
At the conclusion of the meeting, and in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the members of the Supreme Council of Universities responded to Cairo University’s invitation to eat breakfast during the holy month of Ramadan at the Guest House, in an atmosphere dominated by a spirit of friendliness and harmony, reflecting the depth of cooperation and mutual appreciation between the leaders of higher education.
