Today, Friday, press reports revealed that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) asked the Royal Moroccan Army to respond to the report of the observer of the Al-Ahly match, which brought them together, in the group stage competitions of the African Champions League.

According to the Moroccan website Le360 Sport, the match observer, Jamal Ambeh, noted in his official report that the Royal Army fans were the party that initiated the attack, which led to the outbreak of riots after the final whistle.

He pointed out that this description placed the Moroccan club under the attention of the Disciplinary Committee, and was now threatened with severe penalties that may be issued during the coming period, even though the team had officially qualified for the quarter-finals of the African Champions League.

He concluded that the African Union sent a request to the Royal Army requesting a response to the match observer’s report within 72 hours.

It is noteworthy that the Royal Moroccan Army submitted a complaint against Al-Ahly Club to the African Union after the events of the last match between them, which was held at the Cairo International Stadium.
