The meeting of the supreme body of… Wafd PartyThe event, which was held today under the chairmanship of Dr. Al-Sayed Al-Badawi, generated intense tension due to the discussion of some matters related to the party’s financial aspect, as it ended in a verbal quarrel between Dr. Yasser Hassan, the party’s treasurer, and Issam Al-Sabahi, a member of the Supreme Council.
Referral of Yasser Hassan and Essam Al-Sabahi to the System Committee
According to delegation sources, the quarrel broke out during a discussion of items related to the financial file, and developed into a sharp exchange of words, which caused a state of confusion within the meeting, and aroused the dissatisfaction of the party president and a number of delegation leaders.
The sources explained that Dr. Al-Sayyed Al-Badawi expressed his anger at what happened, stressing his complete rejection of the party’s meetings turning into Saddam Squares, declaring his intention to refer both Yasser Hassan and Essam Al-Sabahi to the System Committee, to take the necessary measures in accordance with the party’s regulations.
This comes in conjunction with the Wafd Party’s announcement, in an official statement, of the formation of the System Committee, after the Supreme Council approved the decision of the party’s president, where it was decided that the committee will be headed by Dr. Yasser Al-Hudaybi, Secretary General of the Party, and the membership of Counselor Tariq Abdel Aziz, Undersecretary of the Legislative Committee in the Senate and member of the Supreme Council, along with Dr. Amal Ramzi, Hatem Raslan, Muhammad Abdel-Jawad Fayed, and Abdel-Azim Al-Basil, members of the Supreme Council.
