Representative Walid Al-Tamami, a member of the Senate in the Governorate, reviewed DamiettaHe requested a public discussion to clarify the government’s policy regarding “regulating children’s use of mobile phones,” during the plenary session of the Senate, headed by Counselor Essam El-Din Farid, and in the presence of government representatives.

The representative pointed out that in light of the increasing societal challenges that the contemporary world is witnessing as a result of the widespread use of mobile phones, especially among children, and the resulting negative effects affecting the psychological, mental and behavioral health of emerging generations, it is necessary to study and issue legislation regulating the use of mobile phones for children, similar to the measures and legislation that have been taken in a number of developed countries such as Australia and England.

This request came out of the national responsibility to preserve Children’s health And protecting them from the increasing risks associated with excessive and uncontrolled use of modern technology, which many medical and educational studies have proven to be linked to increased rates of autism spectrum disorders, delayed linguistic development, poor concentration, and social isolation, as well as negative effects on academic achievement and personality building.

The MP stressed the importance of examining the government’s vision and executive plan to deal with this phenomenon, the extent of the readiness of current legislation to keep pace with these challenges, and the role of the Ministries of Education, Health, Communications, and the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood in developing an integrated framework that achieves a balance between benefiting from modern technology and protecting children from its dangers.

The Senator suggested examining the possibility of issuing clear and specific legislation that sets controls for children’s mobile phone use. In order to preserve their psychological and mental health, and to preserve the future of future generations, and in line with the directives of the political leadership and the state’s vision for building humanity.
