He pointed out President of the Association Until the decision to hold a public draw for the second stage came to ensure complete clarity in all procedures related to the competition, in a way that strengthens trust between the association and the clubs and closes the door to any possible interpretations or crises.

In another context, Diab revealed that there is complete coordination with the technical staff of the Egyptian national team, led by Hossam Hassan, with the aim of preparing the team in the best possible way during the next stage, most notably the entitlements related to the World Cup, stressing that cooperation between the association and the technical staff is proceeding regularly.

Diab touched on the Egyptian Capital Cup Championship, noting that it has witnessed remarkable development in recent years, and that such tournaments exist in various countries of the world, explaining that the participation of some clubs with young players or substitutes is normal in light of the pressure of the match schedule.

He stressed that the tournament represents an important source of income for clubs, especially small ones, in a way that supports their financial stability.

The president of the association confirmed that he was not convinced that the league would be held with the participation of 21 teams, but he explained that the decision came as a result of exceptional circumstances and with the unanimous approval of the General Assembly, stressing that the competition was proceeding in an organized manner despite the increase in numbers. He added that the association is working to gradually reduce the number of teams in the coming years.

Regarding the relegation file, Diab stressed that Egyptian football no longer has the luxury of canceling the relegation, noting that the decision to cancel it last season requires two additional seasons, in addition to the current season, to fully address its repercussions.

He revealed a study of a project to merge popular clubs with investment clubs, as a strategic solution to the crises of popular clubs, while preserving their identity and ensuring their continuity at various levels.

He confirmed that the Egyptian League competition will bear a new name starting next season, provided that the official announcement of the change will be made during an upcoming press conference in April, in a step that reflects the association’s approach to developing the competition at the organizational and marketing levels.
