Select Labor law A number of penalties are imposed against anyone who commits a number of practices against workers, and in this report we review these penalties.

Fine

Article 281 of the Labor Law stipulates that anyone who violates the provisions of Articles 4 and 5 of this law shall be punished with a fine of not less than five thousand pounds and not more than fifty thousand pounds. The fine shall be multiplied by the number of workers against whom the crime occurred, and the fine shall be doubled in the event of a recurrence.

Article 4 stipulates that forced or compulsory employment of the worker is prohibited, and harassment, bullying, or any verbal, physical, or psychological violence against the worker is prohibited. The establishment’s work organization and penalties regulations specify the prescribed disciplinary penalties in order to limit cases that fall outside the scope of its application, on the one hand, and due to the necessity of having general texts governing all work relationships when its own legislation does not regulate specific facts, on the other hand.

Article 5 stipulates that any action, behavior or procedure that would cause discrimination against persons in training, advertising or filling jobs, terms or conditions of work, or rights and duties arising from the employment contract, is prohibited, on the basis of religion, creed, gender, origin, race, color, language, disability, social level, political, union or geographical affiliation, or any other reason that results in a violation of the principle of equality and equal opportunities. Any advantage, advantage, benefit or protection decided upon shall not be considered prohibited discrimination. Pursuant to the provisions of this law and the decisions and regulations implementing it for women, children, persons with disabilities, and dwarves, whenever they are decided to the extent necessary to achieve the goal for which they were decided.

The Ministry affirmed the continuation of inspection campaigns in all governorates, and that any violations affecting workers’ rights will not be tolerated, within the framework of implementing the provisions of the new labor law, and achieving discipline and stability within the labor market for the benefit of both sides of the labor productivity.
