The security services at the Ministry of Interior were able to arrest the director responsible for an “unlicensed” television photography studio in Cairo, in violation of the Intellectual Property Rights Protection Law.
A person was arrested for running a television photography studio without a license in Cairo
Information and investigations from the General Administration for Investigations of Works and Protection of Intellectual Property Rights in the Specialized Police Sector confirmed that a woman had established and managed a television filming studio without a license located in the First Settlement Police Department in Cairo, to film videos for programs and advertisements using computers that functioned as montage units loaded with audio-visual works not approved by the regulatory authorities in violation of the Intellectual Property Rights Protection Law, as well as managing a page on social networking sites to promote her criminal activity.
Following the legalization of the procedures, the headquarters of the aforementioned studio was targeted, and the responsible director was arrested, as well as (5) filming sites containing (tools and equipment used in filming). When confronted, he confessed to his criminal activity with the intention of achieving financial profit, and legal measures were taken, and this comes within the framework of combating crimes of infringement of intellectual property rights.
