Today, Friday, the Directorate of Supply and Internal Trade in Menoufia launched expanded field campaigns, in implementation of the directives of Major General Ibrahim Abu Laymoun, Governor of Menoufia, to follow up on markets, stores and food establishments, and to ensure compliance with the controls regulating the protection of citizens’ rights, controlling prices, and confronting any attempts to monopolize goods or trade in products of unknown origin.

The Governor of Menoufia emphasizes coordination between the authorities in ration campaigns

Major General Ibrahim Abu Laymoun, Governor of Menoufia, confirmed that the campaigns came in full coordination between the directorate’s supervisory agencies, local units, and security authorities in various centers, cities, and villages of the governorate, in completion of the plan of continuous inspection and imposing discipline within the markets.

Quantities of flour were seized in ration campaigns in Menoufia

The efforts resulted in the seizure of 5 tons of flour of unknown origin inside a warehouse in Shebin El-Kom, before it was traded without official documents proving its source. The campaigns also seized 49 shekels of subsidized local flour before selling it on the black market in the city of martyrs, in an attempt to make illegal profits at the expense of citizens.

The campaigns also resulted in the issuance of 140 violation reports for various bakeries, including lack of weight, non-compliance with specifications, and poor cleanliness. The campaigns also issued 106 reports of market violations related to failure to announce prices, selling goods of unknown origin, and selling at more than the prescribed price. All seized items were seized, and the necessary legal measures were taken regarding the violations.

The Governor of Menoufia stressed the continued intensification of field supervision of markets, and the firm confrontation of any monopolistic practices, in addition to ensuring the availability of basic goods to citizens, while reacting immediately to any reports related to commercial fraud or price manipulation, in order to preserve the stability of the markets and the rights of consumers.
