Nawaf Al-Zaydan, the owner of the house where Uday and Qusay, the sons of the late Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, were killed in the city of Mosul in 2003, admitted that he was the one who informed the American forces of their whereabouts, after more than 22 years of silence.
This confession came during Al-Zaydan’s appearance on the Black Box program presented by the Kuwaiti journalist Ammar Taqi, in a confession that reopened one of the most controversial files in the modern history of Iraq.
During the interview, Al-Zaydan spoke about the scenes of hosting Saddam Hussein’s two sons inside his home in Mosul, revealing the circumstances and circumstances surrounding their presence there before he informed the American forces of their location. He merely referred to what he described as the intense security pressures and complications that prevailed at that stage, with the full meeting being broadcast at a later time.
The killing of Uday and Qusay Saddam Hussein
It is noteworthy that Uday and Qusay Saddam Hussein were killed on July 22, 2003, during a large military operation carried out by American forces from the 101st Airborne Division, along with special units, targeting a house in a neighborhood in Mosul, after receiving information from a person described at the time as a “local informant” about their hiding at the site.
During the operation, American forces used heavy weapons, and the confrontations continued for hours, before announcing the killing of four people, including Qusay Saddam Hussein and his son Mustafa, in addition to a bodyguard.
