Intensive food campaigns

Mr. Khaled Muhammad Ahmed, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply in Assiut, confirmed that the Directorate and its various departments implemented a number of campaigns to ensure the extent of compliance with ration laws and decisions, in cooperation with Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Rashwan Al-Zaidi, Head of Supply Investigations, and Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Abdel Karim, Undersecretary of the Department.

The campaigns resulted in the issuance of 359 reports and the seizure of a number of violations as follows: First: in the field of markets, the seizure of 24 bags of subsidized local flour before they were smuggled and sold on the black market, the seizure of 50 kilograms of salted fish unfit for human consumption, the seizure of 15 kilograms of liver unfit for human consumption, the seizure of a ton of underweight rice, the seizure of expired food commodities, the seizure of 873 expired bottles of soft drinks, the seizure of 2,508 bottles of juice unfit for human consumption, 4,230 cans of sugary drinks unfit for human consumption, 1,710 liters of materials used in the manufacture of detergents of unknown origin, 300 kilograms of rose hips seized without invoices, and agricultural fertilizers seized without invoices.

Also, 9 reports of selling cigarettes at more than the official price were issued, 24 reports of closure of butane warehouses, 52 reports of failure to announce the prices of butane cylinders, 15 reports of closure of catering merchants, 5 reports of failure to announce the prices of food supplies, 5 reports of practicing an activity without a license, 48 reports of non-announcement of prices for shops, cafes, restaurants and shops, 6 reports were issued. Reports of not holding health certificates.

In the field of bakeries, 190 reports were issued for municipal bakeries, ranging from violations of underweight, violation of specifications, lack of cleanliness, lack of an advertising data board, partial cessation of work, lack of a scale, misuse of quantities of flour, and failure to give cash to citizens.
