Fraport announced today, Monday, the cancellation of 102 flights out of 1,052 scheduled flights at Frankfurt Airport in Germany, due to heavy snowfall and icy conditions.

According to Reuters, the airport administration said that the number of canceled flights may continue to rise throughout the day, with disruptions expected to continue until midday local time.
This disruption comes in the wake of the German union Verdi calling for a 24-hour strike at the airport due to a dispute over wages, which led to passengers crowding in the waiting halls.
