The Xiaomi Redmi A7 Pro debuted as a budget smartphone model featuring a large 6,000 mAh battery. The phone runs on a Unisoc T7250 processor, which is the same processing chip used in the Redmi A5 phone released last year.

The Xiaomi Redmi A series consists of affordable smartphones. Last year, Redmi launched the Redmi A5, which features a 6.88-inch display and a 5,200 mAh battery. Now, the company has unveiled the new Redmi A7 Pro phone.

Specifications The economy class phone comes with a 6.9-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels. Highlights of the display include continuous dimming technology, a 120Hz refresh rate, as well as software-based TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light and TÜV Rheinland Flicker-Free certifications.

The phone has a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. The Redmi A7 Pro phone is powered by the Unisoc T7250 processor. It is an octa-core processor based on a 12nm manufacturing process. This chip also powers the recently launched Realme P4 Lite phone. The phone has 4 GB RAM and up to 128 GB internal storage space.

Interestingly, the device features a large 6,000 mAh battery (an Anker power bank with a capacity of 20,000 is currently $50 on Amazon). The phone supports 15-watt charging. In terms of software, the phone runs on the HyperOS 3 operating system based on Android.

The Redmi A7 Pro is available in various color options, including Black, Misty Blue, Palm Green, and Sunset Orange. It is 8.15mm thick and weighs 208 grams. Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a headphone jack.

Pricing The device was announced in Indonesia, where the base model with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage is priced at 1,699,000 rupees (about $101). It is currently available for pre-order at a discounted price of 1,499,000 rupees (about $90) until March 7, with actual availability starting from March 13. Availability in other regions has not yet been announced. However, the phone recently passed the TRA and Digital Government certification, which hints at its launch in the UAE as well.
