Last May, Apple was rumored to be testing a 200-megapixel camera for the upcoming iPhone, without revealing any additional details at the time. With the widespread availability of 200-megapixel cameras in Android phones, it seems logical that Apple would want to try this technology and see how it suits its requirements.

An investor report from Morgan Stanley revealed that Apple has made its decision and will use a 200-megapixel camera in the iPhone 21, scheduled to be launched in 2028.

As for the naming, Apple is expected to arrive with the iPhone 20 in 2027 to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the launch of the first iPhone, and thus the next generation in 2028 will be the iPhone 21.

This sensor is expected to appear for the first time in the iPhone 21 Pro Max model, and perhaps also in the Pro version.

Samsung will supply the camera, although there are still unclear details about the exact type of sensor that Apple will use, especially since we are very far from the launch date and the sensor may not have been announced yet. There is a possibility that this sensor will be manufactured in the United States by Samsung.
