Samsung officially unveiled the next generation of its S-series smartphones at the Galaxy Unpacked event. The S26 series consists of the base version Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. The smartphone comes with a 2X Dynamic AMOLED display, a 50-megapixel main camera, and Samsung’s own Exynos 2600 chip.

Samsung officially launched its latest S26 series at the Galaxy Unpacked event. The company’s latest S26 series consists of the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra smartphones. We’ve already covered the Basic and Ultra versions, and you can read about them here.

This time, the direct successor to the Galaxy S25 Plus, currently available for $1,053 on Amazon, comes equipped with the latest generation Samsung chipset, at least in Europe. More precisely, the S26 Plus is powered by a Samsung Exynos 2600 chipset paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage with no room to expand the storage space. In terms of dimensions, it is completely identical to its predecessor, as it is 7.3 mm thick, or about 0.28 inches, and weighs about 190 grams, or about 0.41 pounds.

As for the camera, it remains the same as in the S25 Plus. This means you get the same 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization, complemented by a 12MP ultra-wide camera and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. On the front, it has a 12-megapixel camera for taking selfies and video chats. What has changed is the camera housing, and that’s it.

On the software side, the device runs on the One UI 8.5 interface based on Android 16 straight out of the box, and the company promises seven major updates to the operating system to reach Android 23 and seven years of security updates until 2032. Moreover, it features a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with QHD+ resolution with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate support. Unfortunately, there are no upgrades to the battery capacity. It keeps the same 4,900 mAh battery as the S25 Plus and supports 45W wired charging and 20W wireless charging. The rest of the notable features include an in-display fingerprint sensor, IP68 water resistance, Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, and Bluetooth 5.4.

The Samsung Galaxy S26 is currently available for pre-order at a retail price of €1,249. Official sales are scheduled to begin on March 11 through the official Samsung website and other authorized retailers. Interested buyers can choose from cobalt violet, white, black, and sky blue color options.
