The Chinese Lunar New Year is just around the corner, and it looks like Xiaomi is planning to take a break from rolling out HyperOS updates during this holiday period. This period of downtime will reportedly begin on February 15 and end on March 3, 2026.
Xiaomi has almost finished rolling out HyperOS 3. In early February 2026, tracker XiaomiTime reported that 95% of planned devices had received the update, and it appears that the remaining devices will not all be updated before March 2026.
As the XiaomiTime report states, it appears that Xiaomi is planning a relatively long holiday period soon. This is due to the Chinese Lunar New Year, as celebrations for this upcoming event will extend from February 17 to March 3, 2026. It is reported that the company has begun to reduce its operations, and will not provide any major update to the HyperOS system until the holiday period ends.
Recently, 20 new devices from the Redmi and Xiaomi series received the stable HyperOS 3 update, and even with this pause, the company may not be far behind in completing the rollout on time. As a reminder, the brand has promised to update all planned global devices by March 2026.
So, even with this pause in rolling out updates, Xiaomi will have enough time to finish updating the remaining eligible devices. In related news, in celebration of the Chinese Lunar New Year, the brand has added new features to the Xiaomi 17 Pro phones (the price of the 12/256GB Pro version is currently $830.06 on TradingShenzhen), including a New Year’s countdown and air gestures that light up animated fireworks animations. It is available in the HyperOS 3.0.44.0.WPCNXM update.
