Tesla has launched its big holiday update for 2025, and it comes loaded with a number of features that users have been asking for over the past years.

Along with the usual seasonal additions such as vehicle graphics improvements and Santa mode decorations, including winter effects and a Christmas-themed lock tone, the company has introduced a long-awaited feature.

Tesla has added the Phone Left Behind Chime feature, which issues an audio alert when an iPhone or Android phone is forgotten inside the car. The feature can be activated through Settings via Controls > Locks > Phone Left Behind Chime.

Tesla had started supporting Ultra Wideband technology for the iPhone only when the Phone Key feature was launched. However, it expanded later during the year to support Android phones with UWB, such as the Galaxy S25 Ultra and Google Pixel.

The feature now takes advantage of UWB to detect if the phone is still inside the car, and also checks the wireless charging pad to detect any phone left on it, even if it does not support UWB, which ensures that users of older devices will benefit as well.

The car sounds the alert for only a few seconds after the doors have closed and the last passenger has exited, to ensure that no phone is left inside the vehicle unnoticed.
