Sony is offering strong new discounts on PlayStation Plus subscriptions, and this time the offers exceed what it offered during the Black Friday sales last year, when the discounts then reached 33% depending on the subscription category. Now, the company is giving a new opportunity to subscribe at a lower price within the Lunar New Year offers.
Sony reduces the price of the annual PlayStation Plus Premium subscription by up to 35%, making it available to new subscribers for $99.99 instead of $159.99. This discount is limited to the annual plan only, not the monthly plan.
The discounts also include the PlayStation Plus Extra category, where the annual subscription price drops by 25% from $134.99 to $99.99, while the Essential subscription remains at the usual price unchanged.

The benefit is not limited to new subscribers only, but current subscribers can upgrade at discounted prices. If the user is an Essential or Extra subscriber, he can upgrade to Premium at a 35% discount. Sony also allows Essential subscribers to upgrade to Extra at a 25% discount. The offer continues until February 26, after which prices will return to normal.
In terms of differences between the packages, the Extra category gives access to a game library that includes hundreds of downloadable titles, in addition to free monthly games, exclusive discounts, and the Ubisoft+ Classics service.
While the Premium tier adds to this library of classic games, time-limited gaming experiences, and cloud play for supported games.
