Samsung is making significant progress in the foldable phone market with each new release to meet the needs of users. The Galaxy Z Fold series of phones witnessed a continuous reduction in thickness over the years, while the Galaxy Z Flip series had larger external screens and larger batteries, but it seems that the series of continuous upgrades to battery capacity will stop with the expected Galaxy Z Flip 8 phone if the latest technical leaks are to be believed.
Early information indicates that the battery capacity of the Galaxy Z Flip 8 will remain completely identical to the previous version, the Galaxy Z Flip 7. The report explained that the new phone will contain two batteries bearing the symbols EB-BF776 and EB-BF777 with a capacity of 1150 mAh and 3024 mAh respectively, bringing the actual total capacity to 4174 mAh, which is the same capacity that the company markets commercially as an approximate number of 4300 mAh.
These numbers mean the absence of silicon and carbon battery technology from foldable phones this year as well. Although there are reports confirming that the company is testing this advanced technology and the possibility of it appearing soon in the Galaxy S26 Edge phone, foldable devices will continue to rely on old technology, thus halting the growth path that began after the Galaxy Z Flip 5 phone, which carried a battery with a capacity of 3700 mAh, passing through the Galaxy Z Flip 6 phone with a capacity of 4000 mAh, all the way to 4300 mAh in the last generation.
This information is in addition to similar previous leaks related to the photography capabilities of the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 8 phone. Expectations indicate that the phone will maintain the same camera settings as in the previous generation, at least with regard to the number of megapixels, although there are possibilities that the company can upgrade the lenses to become faster or provide them with larger apertures to improve the quality of images in low-light conditions without changing the accuracy of the basic sensors.
Initial expectations indicate that the new phone will be offered at the same official price as its previous version to maintain its competitiveness. These estimates remain subject to change and review due to the ongoing fluctuations and state of chaos witnessed by the market for random memory components and storage spaces globally, so that the coming days will be sufficient to reveal more confirmed details about this upcoming device and the company’s technical trends.
