Global foldable phone shipments rose 14% during the third quarter of 2025, marking the highest quarterly level yet. Samsung was able to maintain its undisputed lead with an estimated 64% share of total shipments during that period.

The Counterpoint Research report indicates that the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 topped the sales list, which helped the Korean company expand the gap with its competitors. Samsung also recorded a remarkable annual growth of 32% compared to the same quarter last year.

Huawei came in second place with an estimated market share of 15%, followed by Motorola with 7%, then Honor with 6%, making these companies the top four. While vivo occupied 4% and Xiaomi 2% of the market.

Foldable devices now represent about 2.5% of total smartphone shipments globally, driven by high demand for side-folding models.

Looking to the future, experts expect a greater expansion in this market during the year 2026, especially with the anticipation of Apple’s entry with its expected foldable phone, the iPhone Fold.
