
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly held, Prime Ministerheld a meeting today to follow up on the delivery and operation of the projects implemented within the first phase of the “Decent Life” presidential initiative, in the presence of a number of ministers and senior officials, including Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and Ahmed Kjouk, Minister of Finance, in addition to representatives of the ministries and concerned authorities, the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces, and the Dar Al-Handasah Company supervising the implementation of the initiative.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister stressed that the government is keen to complete the first phase of the initiative, and to ensure the provision of the necessary funding to complete the remaining projects, stressing the follow-up of the progress of field work in the targeted villages at the level of the various governorates, to ensure the quality of implementation and operation of the projects in a way that brings direct benefit to citizens.
Madbouly pointed out that the initiative contributed to making a major shift in the level of services and quality of life in the villages, stressing the directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to quickly end this phase in preparation for the start of the second phase, with the aim of the initiative’s unprecedented services reaching all of Egypt’s villages.
The meeting clarified the status of the work carried out in various sectors in the governorates, including projects that have been completed and are being completed, in addition to projects that have already been delivered and have begun operating to provide services to citizens in the targeted villages.
Counselor Muhammad Al-Homsani, the official spokesman for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, stated that 75% of the projects that have been completed have already been received from the implementing contracting companies, while the remaining projects are successively received for operation and entry into service as soon as possible, ensuring the maximum benefit from this initiative on the ground.
The meeting also stressed the importance of continuous coordination between ministries and various agencies to ensure adherence to the project schedule and activate the services provided in a way that reflects the state’s commitment to achieving comprehensive development of the Egyptian countryside and improving the standard of living of citizens in the targeted villages.
The Prime Minister stressed that his periodic field visits to the targeted villages represent part of the government’s keenness to closely monitor the operation of the projects and ensure the provision of high-quality services, noting that the second phase of the initiative will expand to include a larger number of villages, in order to achieve the state’s vision of developing the Egyptian countryside and improving the quality of life for citizens.
