Images of the unannounced Powerbeats 4 earbuds from Apple have appeared online for the first time, along with new details about their specifications. The WinFuture website reports that the life of the earphones will reach 15 hours on a charge based on the life of the battery supplied with them this time.
Note that the Powerbeats 3 headphones, which were released in 2016, have an average battery life of 12 hours, and with five minutes of charging you get a 60-minute average playback time, according to WinFuture.
This type of speaker internally uses Apple’s new H1 wireless chip, similar to the Powerbeats Pro, which should support features like “Hey Siri” and “Advertisement messages with Siri.” The earbuds will be available in black, white and red. The Powerbeats 3 cost $199.95 each, but prices for the Powerbeats 4 are still unknown.
The first hint of Apple’s new earbuds appeared in January, when some icons appeared and appeared to be for the Powerbeats 4 headphones in iOS, and last month, the earbuds appeared on an FCC listing. This latest leak is consistent with previous images, which showed that the earbuds’ cable is now attached to an arm that fits around the top of your ear as you wear it, instead of falling from the front.
Although the earbuds themselves are connected to each other using a cable, they connect to your phone wirelessly using Bluetooth and there’s still no word on when the new earbuds will be released.
The Powerbeats 3 headphones were shown for the first time at the iPhone 7 launch event. There were rumors that Apple was planning to host an event sometime this month, but with more events canceled or postponed due to fears of the Corona virus, it is unlikely that any traditional press event will actually be held this month, given that Apple itself has recommended that its employees work remotely as well.
