The IdeaTab Pro 2nd Generation comes with quite a few major upgrades compared to its predecessor. The Android tablet switches to a Snapdragon chipset and brings some productivity-focused AI features.
Lenovo unveiled the successor to the IdeaTab Pro, simply called the IdeaTab Pro 2nd Gen, at Mobile World Congress. The new Android tablet brings some improvements over its predecessor such as a slightly larger and higher-resolution screen, a slimmer design, and Lenovo’s Kira AI integrations. The second generation IdeaTab Pro is also lighter and will be available in three colors, when it goes on sale, likely in the coming weeks.
Specifications and features of the Lenovo IdeaTab Pro 2nd generation
The new tablet runs Android 16 out of the box and will be upgradeable to Android 18, but with four years of security updates. It features a 13-inch display with 3.5K (3520 x 2190) resolution, which is slightly larger than the 12.7-inch 3K setup in the previous generation. Lenovo calls this screen “PureSight Pro” with a 144Hz refresh rate, 800 nits brightness, and 99% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space.
The IdeaTab Pro 2nd Generation is powered by a 4th generation Snapdragon 8S processor and is equipped with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage space. There is also a microSD card slot that supports up to 2TB. It is compatible with the Lenovo Tab Pen Plus as well.

For photos and videos, there is a 13-megapixel rear camera that supports autofocus and an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies, just like the first-generation tablet. All this is backed by a 10,200mAh battery and the charging speed remains the same at 45W. There are a total of four speakers tuned by JBL and supporting Dolby Atmos. The dimensions of the tablet are 296.48 x 191.91 x 6.2 mm and it weighs about 598 grams, making it thinner and lighter than its predecessor.
Lenovo has implemented its own ‘Kira’ AI technology in the tablet and it brings some features like smart notes, live translations, and more, which are aimed at helping professionals and students alike.
There will be three color options – Lunar Grey, Cloud Grey, and Jelly Mint – when the tablet goes on sale. Lenovo has not shared pricing and availability details yet.
