Anbernic has officially confirmed its readiness to launch its new portable device dedicated to classic games, called RG Rotate. This new version comes as a practical device that is easy to carry in the pocket and has enough power to emulate old gaming devices with the ability to use it as an alternative to audio players, after the company launched the RG Vita and RG Vita Pro last month with a traditional horizontal design, which are available at a price of 179 US dollars. In contrast, the new version features a design that resembles the classic Motorola Flip Out phone, and will be available in two color options: glossy silver, which features an aluminum body, and polar black, which is made of durable ABS plastic.
Despite the company’s usual secrecy about the device’s full technical specifications at the present time, the promotional video clip confirmed some important details related to power and performance. The device comes equipped with a battery with a capacity of 2000 mAh and supports charging with a capacity of 10 watts, specifically 5 volts and 2 amps, to ensure appropriate periods of play, while expectations indicate that the device’s capabilities in simulating games may be limited to running games for Nintendo 64 devices and below, which makes it an ideal choice for fans of classic games that do not require high operating requirements.
Regarding audio and connection ports, the device clearly lacks a standard 3.5 mm headphone jack, which is surprising given the company’s promotion of it as a device that revives memories of old music players. As a result, users will have to rely on the USB Type-C port installed at the top to output audio and connect wired headphones, but on the positive side, the device maintains a dedicated slot for microSD memory cards to freely expand the storage space, in addition to providing it with integrated and interchangeable shoulder buttons to customize the control and gaming experience to suit the comfort of each user.
