H3C officially launched its new convertible computer, the MegaBook 2, to compete strongly with the famous Surface Pro devices in the market. This innovative device comes as one of the first tablet computers to rely on Intel’s advanced Panther Lake processors. It features a stunning OLED screen with a brightness of up to 1,000 nits, coupled with a random memory capacity of up to 32 GB within an elegant and light body that weighs less than one kilogram to make it easy to carry and use anywhere.

The manufacturer decided to provide this computer with a powerful Core Ultra 5 325 processor, with options for 16 GB or 32 GB of fast LPDDR5x random access memory. This eight-core processor includes four Cougar Cove performance cores operating at a frequency of 4.5 GHz, and four Darkmont LP efficiency cores operating at a frequency of 3.4 GHz, in addition to an integrated quad-core Xe3 graphics processing unit that provides slightly lower performance than the Arc 130V unit found in the first generation.

Although this new processor will likely offer modest performance gains based on previous experiences with the similar Core Ultra 7 355 processor, it will play a crucial role in making the MegaBook 2 computer more energy efficient compared to its predecessor. But on the other hand, the company decided to reduce the size of the battery by 15%, bringing its total capacity to only 50 watts per hour, which may affect the periods of actual operation of the device away from electrical sockets.

The new generation maintains the brilliant OLED screen with a resolution of 2.8K and a refresh rate of 120 Hz to ensure maximum smoothness and clarity. This 14-inch screen features an aspect ratio of 16:10 to provide a wide and comfortable viewing area for the eyes, in contrast to the traditional 3:2 ratio that users of Surface Pro devices are accustomed to, thus providing a different visual experience suitable for consuming content and completing daily work tasks with high efficiency.

The weight of this tablet is about 925 grams, excluding the detachable keyboard, to support the Windows 11 and MegaOS operating systems to meet the desires of users. Official sales of the device are scheduled to begin in the Chinese market starting next April 11, and despite this clear announcement of the local launch date, H3C has not yet revealed any details regarding the expected prices or plans to provide this promising computer in global markets, leaving the door open to speculation.
