Garmin watch users have criticized the company after major problems emerged with some models, while also blaming its handling of faults that have reportedly been known for some time.

Complaints indicate that the Forerunner 255, Forerunner 265, Forerunner 955, and Forerunner 965 watches were affected after the software update to version 27.09.

The most prominent problems are the inaccuracy of measuring heart rate, which is an important element especially for endurance athletes, as they rely on it to determine the intensity of the exercise. Unlike distance data, which can be modified later, heart rate data is difficult to correct after it has been recorded, affecting training plans and performance analysis.

Some users also reported errors in elevation data, with workouts recorded on flat terrain as if they included a mountain climb. Reports indicate that these problems appeared after a system update, and are said to have been present since January.

On the other hand, some users indicated that they did not encounter these malfunctions, which makes it difficult to accurately determine the extent of the problem. However, those affected are recommended to contact Garmin to report crashes and increase pressure for an update that addresses them.
