Rumors have been circulating for several months that Apple is preparing to launch a competing alternative to products such as the Amazon Echo Show 8 on the market soon. The news leaker and Apple collector known as Kusutami recently claimed that he was able to personally see a prototype of this highly anticipated and innovative device, which he calls the HomePad.
The leaks indicated that this device features a semi-square touch screen measuring about 7 inches, and can be installed on a wall mount using an advanced system similar to the famous MagSafe technology. It is said that Apple will also offer a version equipped with a stand reminiscent of the design of the HomePod mini speaker, which may accommodate additional speakers to enhance the audio experience. The device will also support making video calls via a front camera, with its ability to recognize people in the home via Face ID technology for automatic and seamless switching between user profiles.
The HomePad is expected to act as a main control center for managing all smart home devices, while allowing the operation of music and podcast streaming services with ease. The device will also allow the use of miniature and interactive tools to display useful information directly on the screen, such as daily weather forecasts, to facilitate the completion of daily tasks for users.
According to the information shared by the leaker, it is no longer planned to launch this smart home center until the fall of 2026, so this date represents a new postponement of the company’s plans. This step comes after previous rumors spoke of the company’s intention to put it on the market during early 2026, in order to ensure its complete readiness and develop its features in a way that meets the aspirations of brand fans.
This device will operate on the powerful Apple A18 processor, which is used in the latest iPhones to ensure ultra-fast and responsive performance. Expectations indicate that this new innovation will be available to consumers at a price of approximately 400 euros, which makes the HomePad device significantly more expensive than similar products offered by competing companies in this technical sector.
