Apple has released the first public beta versions of iOS 26.3 and iPadOS 26.3, just one day after the same updates were made available to developers. This release comes to give users of the trial version program the opportunity to try out the new features before the official launch.

The iOS 26.3 update provides an easier way to transfer data to Android devices when moving from iPhone, which is a feature that Google is also working to support on the Android system, in a move aimed at facilitating the transfer process between the two platforms.

In the European Union, the update adds a new feature called Notification Forwarding, which allows notifications from the iPhone to be forwarded to third-party wearable devices.

This step comes in response to European Union requirements, to ensure that notifications reach non-Apple smart watches. However, the current version of the feature does not allow notifications to appear on Apple Watch when forwarding is enabled.

In terms of customization, Apple is adding new weather wallpapers within a separate section called Weather within the wallpaper gallery, after separating the previous section that combined weather and astronomy into two separate sections, Weather and Astronomy.
