The appearance of GTA VI game IDs within the PlayStation database has sparked a new wave of speculation about the approaching opening of pre-orders.

According to what was published by the @PlaystationSize account on the X platform, this step often precedes the official launch of the pre-order page on the store.

The inclusion of Title IDs in the PlayStation Store backend means that the infrastructure for regional pricing and store pages is being put to the test.

These identifiers are a digital fingerprint necessary to make the game available on the store, indicating the project’s gradual transition from the development stage to the distribution stage. After the launch was postponed from the 2025 window to November 19, 2026, this development gives a tangible indication that the launch date has stabilized.

On the other hand, Rockstar is technically betting on a huge update to the RAGE engine, which is expected to be the biggest technical challenge in the history of the series.

The tightening of office work within the company came after the famous 2022 leaks, in addition to the complexity of simulating the world of Leonida and the density of characters and physical interactions within it.

This may also explain the absence of an official date for the PC version so far, as it seems that the studio prefers to ensure a stable experience on current generation devices such as PlayStation 5 before expanding to other platforms.

In the same context, the release of GTA VI is expected to put an end to the remarkable continuity of Grand Theft Auto V, which still has a recent rating of 95% “very positive” on Steam, with a peak of more than 187 thousand concurrent players on the same platform.

Although some community members remain skeptical due to the history of postponements, the opening of pre-orders in the coming weeks, if the leaks are correct, may be the decisive indicator that the actual launch is approaching.
