A new external display called SpectraSlideOut appears with an innovative design specifically for MacBook devices, offering a practical solution to increase the display area without having to carry a separate monitor.
The idea comes in the form of an additional structure surrounding the laptop, to act as if it were part of it, with a sliding mechanism that allows the screen to be removed when needed. In this way, it can be kept connected to the device while on the go, making it suitable for quick use and on-the-go work.
Unlike traditional monitors that are mounted next to the computer or carried separately, this monitor provides greater stability and a more integrated experience. It is scheduled to be offered in two versions, one made of ABS plastic and the other of aluminum.
The screen supports a select number of MacBook devices, including the 14-inch MacBook Pro, the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air from the M2 and M3 generations, as well as some older versions.
It is expected that the thickness and weight of the device will increase when installed, but in return it does not require an independent battery, as it depends on the power of the computer itself. The company has not yet revealed the full specifications or price, and the financing campaign will be launched via Indiegogo on April 28.
