She announced Ministry of Agriculture Land Reclamation, represented by the General Authority for Veterinary Services, stabilized the epidemiological situation of poultry wealth in all governorates of the Republic, stressing the continuation of field monitoring and follow-up work to ensure the preservation of the health of the herds and support the stability of the poultry sector in the local market.
An official statement issued today from Cairo explained that veterinary services continue to implement their preventive and control plans in various governorates, through periodic vaccination campaigns and continuous follow-up of farms and markets selling live birds, as part of the state’s efforts to preserve poultry wealth as one of the most important sources of food security for citizens.
The authority confirmed that veterinary teams spread throughout the republic are working to intensify epidemiological investigation work and withdraw samples on a regular basis, in addition to following up on the application of biosafety measures inside farms, in a way that limits the spread of epidemic diseases and maintains production stability.
The statement indicated that the stability of the epidemiological situation came as a result of the continuous efforts made by the Ministry in cooperation with the concerned authorities, as comprehensive vaccination programs are being implemented aimed at protecting poultry from various diseases, in addition to raising the level of awareness among breeders of the importance of adhering to preventive measures and immediately reporting any suspected cases.
The Ministry also stressed the importance of cooperation between breeders and veterinary agencies, especially with regard to implementing the requirements for safe breeding and proper handling of birds, which contributes to strengthening the animal health system and supporting the stability of production in the sector.
This announcement comes at a time when the poultry sector is witnessing increasing interest from the state, due to its vital role in providing animal protein at reasonable prices to citizens, in addition to being one of the productive sectors that provides broad job opportunities and supports the national economy.
The Ministry confirmed its continued efforts during the coming period to maintain the stable health status of poultry wealth, while strengthening the veterinary control system and developing services provided to breeders, in a way that contributes to achieving self-sufficiency in poultry products and supporting market stability.
