The YouTube platform confirmed raising the prices of the Premium subscription for the first time in about three years, in a move that comes as part of a wave of increases hitting most streaming services.
Although these increases are often met with disapproval, some users find that YouTube Premium still offers great value compared to others.
Prices rose to $15.99 for the individual plan instead of $13.99, and $26.99 for the family plan instead of $22.99, while the Lite subscription reached $8.99, and Music Premium to $11.99 per month.

Although no new features are added, the subscription remains attractive to users who rely on YouTube daily.
This is due to the heavy usage compared to other services such as Netflix and Disney+, as YouTube offers an ad-free experience and direct support for content creators.
With storage and infrastructure costs rising due to the huge volume of constantly uploaded videos, the price increase seems less shocking compared to other streaming services that have raised their prices several times over the past years.
