Samsung recently started selling the Galaxy S26 Ultra worldwide. In response, Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 17 Ultra globally. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra comes with a 20% larger battery than Samsung’s latest flagship phone, and competes with the Galaxy S26 Ultra with a fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite processing chip and superior camera hardware on paper as well.
Xiaomi has now launched the Xiaomi 17 Ultra globally. More than two months after its first appearance, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra phone retains many of the hardware that Xiaomi included in its Chinese version. Unfortunately, the 6,800 mAh capacity that powered the Chinese version of the device has given way to the 6,000 mAh variant.

However, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra has a 20% larger battery than the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra (currently available for $1,299 on Amazon). In addition, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra continues to support 50W wireless charging and 90W wired charging. Likewise, Xiaomi equips the global model with a fifth-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processing chip, LPDDR5
On top of that, the device also features the same 50MP primary, ultra-wide-angle and front cameras that we reviewed in January, as well as an identical 200MP telephoto camera. The price of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra starts at 1,499 euros (about $1,710) with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage in black, star green, and white color options. Alternatively, the device can be configured with 1TB of storage while retaining 16GB of RAM for €1,699 (about $2,005).
Xiaomi is also offering discounted accessories with pre-orders placed until March 14. At launch, the Xiaomi TAG tracker, photography kit, professional photography kit and 120W charger will be available for €0.99, €9.90, €99.90 and €29.90 respectively, instead of €14.99, €99.90, €199.90 and €59.99.
