WhatsApp has launched a new feature called Group Message History, with the aim of addressing a common problem that many users face when joining a group after missing many messages.

The new feature allows group admins and members to share a number of recent messages with new members, so that they can see the context of the conversation from the beginning. The company confirmed that the messages shared will remain protected with complete encryption between both parties.

When a new member is added to any group, a pop-up window will appear with the option to share recent message history. You can choose to share between 25 and 100 previous messages with newly joined members.

On the other hand, WhatsApp allows admins to disable the option to share message history through group settings. When sharing is activated, all group members will be notified of this, displaying message details such as the sender’s name and sending time.

Currently, WhatsApp is gradually rolling out the group message history feature to various users.
