The General Authority of Meteorology announced its forecast for the situation the weather Sunday, March 15, 2026, indicating improved horizontal visibility and calm wind speeds over most parts of the Republic, with continued chances of rain falling in a number of areas in the north of the country.
Weather condition Sunday: Meteorology warns of navigation disturbance
The authority explained that the country will witness water mist during the early morning hours, especially in the period from four to nine in the morning, over areas from the north of the country to Greater Cairo, the canal cities, central Sinai, and northern Upper Egypt, which may affect the level of horizontal visibility on some roads.
Forecasts indicate chances of moderate rain, which may be heavy and sometimes thundery, on areas of the northern coasts and northern Lower Egypt, at intermittent intervals during the day.
Meteorology also predicted chances of light rain falling on areas of southern Lower Egypt, the canal cities, and the Gulf of Aqaba, with the possibility of it extending with an estimated incidence of about 30 percent to areas of Greater Cairo and northern Upper Egypt at intermittent intervals.
Regarding wind movement, the Authority reported wind activity on some areas of the northern coast, South Sinai, and the south of the country at intermittent periods, which may increase the feeling of cold weather in some open areas.
The authority warned of disruption to maritime navigation on some areas of the Mediterranean coast, where wind speeds range between 50 and 70 kilometers per hour, with waves rising between 2.5 and 4 metres.
Some areas of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Suez and Aqaba are also witnessing disturbances in maritime navigation, as a result of wind activity, whose speed ranges between 40 and 60 kilometers per hour, and waves rising from two to 3.5 metres.
