The artist Bassem Samra was a guest on the “One of the People” program with the journalist Amr El-Laithi on Al-Hayat channel, where he revealed many behind the scenes of his artistic works and his vision for his career.
Bassem Samra stressed during the meeting that he does not feel regret for any work he has performed, and that he loves all the characters he embodied, and treats every experience as a step for learning, explaining that he has only presented a small part of his capabilities so far, and is looking forward to presenting works that serve the public and express societal issues.
He explained that he aspires to present new and different roles, especially historical figures, and hopes to embody the character of Akhenaten and present works that shed light on the Pharaonic civilization and the great history of Egypt.
He pointed out that he preferred working in cinema more than television, considering it “lasting in the audience’s memory,” noting his love for mime, and his comfort with filming inside the studio compared to filming outside, stressing that public success is more important to him.
He spoke about a number of his colleagues in the artistic community, where he expressed his love for the artist Ahmed El Sakka, noting that there is a nearby artistic work that brings them together. He also praised the talent of Mohamed Ramadan, describing him as an intelligent artist.
He also recalled his cooperation with the late director Youssef Chahine, stressing that it was an experience that would not be repeated in the history of cinema.
Regarding his career, he explained that he started as an industrial technical teacher, but left teaching after his success in acting.
Regarding his upcoming works, he announced his participation in the movie “Barshama” with Hisham Majed, in addition to the movie “Banat Faten” with the star Yousra, noting that there is no agreement yet to present a second part of the Magic Eye series.
