Al-Abd added in his statements to Cairo 24 that stopping shipping may lead to an increase in prices, but the regulatory authorities warned against any unjustified increases, noting that the stability of production raw materials directly contributes to the stability of the prices of all food commodities and confectionery products.
He stated: Regional tensions also indirectly affected the import of some basic ingredients, such as nuts and raw oils used in the sweets industry.
He said: With shipping halted and transportation costs rising, manufacturers face challenges in maintaining inventory levels, making the local market sensitive to any price fluctuations.
He continued: Despite this, the stability of the current inventory helps maintain the stability of product prices even as difficult conditions continue in the region.
