A source within the board of directors revealed Zamalek Club There is a division in opinions within the Council regarding the future of the technical staff of the first football team, as voices emerged demanding that Motamed Jamal be retained in the position of technical director during the coming period, and not to make any changes at the present time.

The source confirmed, in exclusive statements to “Cairo 24”, that the demands for Gamal’s continuation come in light of the financial crisis that the club is suffering from, which prevents making costly decisions at the current time, especially with regard to contracting with a foreign technical director who needs to provide large financial liquidity to cover his salary and the costs of his assistant staff.
The source explained that some members of the council see the need to give Motamed Jamal a full opportunity to lead the team during the next stage, provided that his experience is comprehensively evaluated after a specific period, before a final decision is taken regarding his continuation or the direction of contracting with a new coach.
The source added that John Edward, the sporting director of Zamalek Club, still prefers to contract with a foreign technical director to lead the team in the next stage, and he has already presented four CVs of foreign coaches to the board of directors, in preparation for choosing the most suitable of them if the necessary financial capabilities are available.
The source indicated that this file is still pending at the present time, due to the lack of financial liquidity required to begin serious negotiations with any foreign technical director, which prompted some voices within the council to adhere to the option of continuing with the current technical director.
The source concluded his statements by emphasizing that the closest approach currently is to give Muttamed Jamal a greater opportunity to prove his abilities, and based on the team’s results and performance during the coming period, the final decision will be made, whether he will continue at the head of the technical leadership or contract with a foreign technical director in the next stage.
