
In a decisive field move that reflects the trends of the next stage, Major General Tariq Rashid, Governor of Sohag, conducted a surprise inspection tour of the center and city of the facility, to follow up on the level of services provided to citizens and determine the extent of discipline within government departments and service establishments.
During the tour, the governor was accompanied by Deputy Governor Kamal Suleiman, along with a number of deputy ministers and heads of government departments. The visit included a number of vital sectors that citizens frequent on a daily basis.
Sohag Governorate
The governor began his tour by inspecting the technology center for citizen service, where he was keen to meet citizens and listen to their complaints and demands directly, directing the speedy completion of procedures and simplification of work mechanisms, with the need to inform the citizen of the status of his request in advance to ensure transparency and speed of service provision.
During his inspection of the “Rawaa’ Al-Issawiya Complex” school, the governor expressed his deep dissatisfaction with the low level of cleanliness inside the school, stressing the necessity of activating the role of the Board of Trustees, enhancing community participation, and working to raise the level of discipline and cleanliness in all schools, in order to preserve the health of students and create an appropriate educational environment.
The tour also included the Rawafa Al-Qusayr Youth Center and the Family Medicine Unit in the village, where the governor observed the low level of cleanliness in them, stressing the importance of the role of natural leaders within the villages, such as the sheikh of the country and the mayor, in addition to the role of members of the House of Representatives and the Senate in supporting efforts to improve services and follow up on performance on the ground.
Immediately, the governor issued decisive decisions to refer the school principal, the youth center director, the head of the Rawafa’ al-Issawiya village, and the director of the family medicine unit to investigation, due to the observed deficiencies, stressing that the current stage does not tolerate negligence or laxity in the performance of duty.
He also directed that all observations that had been detected be quickly rectified, and the city president was assigned to intensify daily field follow-up of all service facilities, to ensure the continued provision of services in a manner appropriate to citizens.
The Governor of Sohag concluded his tour by emphasizing the continuation of surprise tours periodically to include cities, villages, and hamlets, stressing that there will be no tolerance for those who are negligent, and that the criterion for success during the coming period will be discipline and raising the efficiency of services, in a way that achieves citizen satisfaction and improves the quality of his life.
