Following Moataz Rajab, Director of the New Abnoub School In AssiutAccording to what was published by the guardian of the student Ammar, in which he accused the social worker and the school representative of causing his son, in the fourth grade of primary school, to attempt to end his life after being exposed to bullying.
The school principal replied
The school principal explained, in an official statement on the school group, that the incident of the student’s expulsion for five days was the result of repeated behavior, which included disturbances, a large number of problems, and physical and verbal assault on his colleagues. He confirmed that the student’s father had been summoned three previous times and warned of his son’s behavior, but the guardian would respond to this with objection and bias toward his son, which hindered efforts to modify his behavior.
He added that the social worker made several attempts to correct the student’s behavior, but the family’s treatment was undermining those efforts, noting that the school administration called on the guardian to sign a written pledge to participate in the behavior modification plan, but he refused to sign, in the presence of the Council of Parents and Trustees as witnesses to the incident.
He explained that last Wednesday, the student physically and verbally assaulted one of his classmates with inappropriate language, and when the teachers and supervisors intervened, he treated them in a disrespectful manner, which necessitated holding a meeting of the school’s child protection committee, which decided to expel him for five days, and issued a warning to the other student, explaining that the latter had no previous violations recorded against him. He stressed that all procedures are documented in the social worker’s records.
He concluded his statement by emphasizing that the school reserves its right to take legal action against what he considered defamation on the part of the parent, and called on everyone to investigate accuracy before publishing or circulating any information, and to be responsible in the comments circulated.
