Today, Sunday, the Second Circuit of Terrorism, held in the Badr Courts Complex, headed by Counselor Wagdy Abdel Moneim, is examining the trial session of 89 defendants in Case No. 535 of 2025 Nasr City Felons, known in the media as the Nasr City ISIS cell case.

Trial of 89 defendants in the Nasr City ISIS cell case

According to the referral order, the defendants were charged with joining a terrorist group that was established in contravention of the provisions of the law, used violence as a means to achieve its goals, and sought to prevent state institutions and public authorities from carrying out their work.

The referral order explained that the incidents date back to the period extending from 2017 until December 1, 2020, during which the defendants participated in activities that would attack the personal freedom of citizens, harm public rights and freedoms, threaten national security, and undermine social peace and national unity.

This trial comes within a series of cases heard by terrorism courts, as part of the state’s efforts to confront extremist organizations, dry up their sources, and hold accountable those involved in supporting or joining terrorist groups.
